About The Position

The Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and ensuring excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This role involves mentoring team members, assisting with operational issues, and maintaining store standards while promoting a friendly shopping experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude towards customer interaction.
• Ability to operate front end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Ability to perform repetitious activities and multi-task effectively.
• Must be able to lift/carry products weighing up to 30 lbs and move grocery carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and provide direction/support to ensure excellent customer service.
• Assist in resolving customer assistance issues at the register.
• Assign store sweeps and monitor cash register supply levels.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots.
• Monitor exit doors for security and loss prevention issues.
• Schedule and oversee meal and rest breaks in compliance with company policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new cashiers and manage disciplinary actions.
