About The Position

The HDPE Fusion Technician is responsible for performing high-quality fusion of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping systems used in utilities, water, gas, sewer, and industrial applications. This role requires expertise in butt fusion and electrofusion techniques, ensuring all joints meet industry standards and project specifications. The Technician will work in field environments and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, efficient installation and testing of HDPE piping systems. Requirements

  • Experience performing HDPE pipe fusion in field environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
  • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Butt fusion and electrofusion certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform butt fusion and electrofusion of HDPE pipe and fittings according to manufacturer and industry specifications.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain fusion equipment.
  • Ensure proper alignment, heating, cooling, and pressure control during fusion processes.
  • Inspect fused joints for quality and compliance with project standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of fusion equipment.
