About The Position

Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA's core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June. As an HDEP Machine Shop intern, you will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our series production of our HDEP products. You will work in parallel with the machine, operator and personnel to maintain equipment efficiency. Project support will be aimed at creating process stability / improvements of both CNC machining and automated assembly equipment. You will also contribute to elevating the effectiveness of our Shop Floor Management processes. The Detroit Machine shop intern will have the unique opportunity to directly support the production team with problem solving to drive sporadic and chronic problems to closure. To enable this problem solving, the intern should leverage machine analysis and data to identify issue trends and opportunities for improvement. Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June).
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Engineering aptitude highly valued.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with changing directions/objectives.
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Creative mindset.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
