About The Position

Triad Associates (part of the Concordia Wireless family) is a nationwide construction services firm specializing in the development of wireless communication sites, with a focus on supporting telecom networks. We are contracted by major carries to facilitate network upgrades including conversions from 4G to 5G. Our services include construction management, electrical and civil modernization, antenna and line (A&L) tower work, tower maintenance, fiber optic network deployment, commissioning and integration, directional boring, trenching, and excavating. Our expertise spans a wide range of projects and our clients include major telecommunication clients such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. To support our growing client base, we are seeking candidates interested in HDD Operator (Directional Boring Operator – traveling role) positions. The HDD Operator will operate a Universal directional boring machine to facilitate the installation of underground telecommunications infrastructure. This position requires extensive travel and working under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor to ensure the successful completion of daily tasks in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating Universal directional boring equipment or similar machinery.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in various locations across multiple states.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and installation methods preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and maps.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and installation methods preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to project sites across Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota, North Dakota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
  • Operate Universal directional boring equipment to install underground conduit and fiber optic cables according to project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct pre-operation equipment checks and routine maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure proper alignment and depth control during drilling operations.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
