Requirements

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Minimum Highschool/GED. Technical or trade school preferred.
3 year’s experience in diesel mechanical repair
Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
Heavy machinery repair ie: forklifts, skid steerers, loaders
Excellent problem-solving skills
Keen attention to detail
Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
Effective collaboration and communication skills
Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Consult with truck department and reading work orders to evaluate the tasks required
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems with moderate complexity.
Service engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspension, cooling systems, and drivetrains.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including starters, alternators, lighting, and basic wiring.
Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and schematics to identify and correct issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours in maintenance systems.
Perform road tests and equipment inspections to verify repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Follow all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety policies and procedures.
