About The Position

The HCM Systems Technician is responsible for verifying data accuracy, ensuring system compliance, and enhancing process efficiency in alignment with the organization's mission and business objectives. Serves in a consulting role for HCM system integrations and customizations, working closely with the HR Technology team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in Workday HCM
  • Ability to translate highly technical solutions/problems to audiences at varying technical levels
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with SMEs and business stakeholders within and out of core competency
  • Communicates in a professional manner when interacting with internal and external customers
  • Strong foundational understanding of HR best practices and key concepts
  • Good organizational skills and strong follow-through
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on thoroughness and accuracy
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with data privacy and security protocol

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of the Workday HCM system to verify data accuracy, ensure system compliance, and enhance process efficiency. And based on the audits, make appropriate updates in the system.
  • Manage the setup and ongoing maintenance of foundational HCM data; such as supervisory organizations, locations, and cost centers.
  • Partner with SMEs to identify opportunities for improvements, efficiency, business requirements, and overall user experience. Translate these functional specifications and provide direct support for system enhancements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for SMEs; providing support, guidance, and technical assistance related to HR technology systems.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote consistent and efficient system usage. Write and maintain detailed documentation of all integrations and customizations.
  • Participate in release updates, system configuration updates, and applicable testing.
  • Perform data audits, reconciliations, and analyses to support HR initiatives and broader business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and data security standards within HR technology platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation to support audit readiness and compliance requirements.
  • Keep abreast of new Workday features and functionality and make recommendations on how to leverage them to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with IT, SMEs, and the HR Technology team to resolve cross-functional issues related to Workday.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
