Skyworks is seeking an experienced Principal Power Amplifier/RF IC Design Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA. This role is pivotal in the mobile handset ecosystem, where the engineer will serve as a technical leader in RFIC PA design. The successful candidate will be involved in the architecture, design, development, prototyping, and lab-testing of advanced wireless chipsets that are integral to leading mobile phone manufacturers' products. The position requires a strong focus on driving design innovation in RF power amplifiers and leading the development of power amplifier modules within Skyworks' product lineup. Additionally, the engineer will provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. The Principal Power Amplifier/RF IC Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing RFICs for mobile handset applications, including various amplifier classes such as Class A, AB/E/F, Push-Pull Differential PAs, and Doherty topologies. The designs will encompass Multi-Chip Modules implemented in GaAs (HBT/pHEMT) and various IPD processes. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in RF & 3D EM modeling of RFICs and have a solid understanding of key PA parameters, including gain, linearity, PAE, P3dB, input/output matching, and stability. The role also involves collaborating with a team of analog/RF IC design experts to develop cellular-band ICs that manage signal transmission, reception, and switching to and from antennas. The engineer will be expected to track and resolve performance and circuit design issues, drive architectural innovation for superior performance, and manage RFIC PA tape-outs to meet product schedules.
