About The Position

We are seeking a qualified HAZWOPER Laborer with HAZWOPER and Lead certifications for a soil remediation project in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will have experience in soil remediation and contribute to the success and safety of our efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform soil remediation tasks and handle hazardous materials. Operate and maintain equipment, ensuring daily inspections. Participate in tailgate meetings and follow safety protocols. Maintain daily logs and assist in material handling. Control dust, direct traffic, and ensure site safety. Spot operators, identify utilities, and use hand-held equipment. Maintain site cleanliness and secure excavation areas. Install and maintain SWPPP measures. Communicate with crew members and maintain truck logs. Perform excavation, backfill, compaction, and trench work. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in soil remediation or related field.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Required to walk and stand for long periods.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. without aid.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management and remediation procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good physical stamina for manual labor tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork.
  • Basic knowledge of soil remediation techniques and equipment.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 40-Hr HAZWOPER Certification or current 8-Hr Refresher.
  • Lead Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction industry experience preferred.
