About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Hazmat Specialist B for a position on Kauai, HI. Under partial supervision, the individual will support any daily supply functions within the Supply and Logistics Department to include warehousing, shipping and receiving, hazmat and inventory. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with HAZMAT locker inspections and training in accordance with policies and procedures for Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF). Handles all hazardous materials and hazardous waste operations, from initial handling through final disposition. Perform quality control inspections on property and tools as required. Update shelf-life material in stock and out in the field in accordance with N-ERP shelf program Perform tasks using N-ERP (Navy Enterprise Resource Planning) and MAXIMO system. Load and unload carriers and transporting HAZMAT materials and supplies as required Segregate items by chemical compatibility and do chemical inventory research to reduce multiple hazardous material in stock Manage warehouse inventory, ensure accountability, and update databases as needed. Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, delivery, and receipt of items. Maintain accountability and update program records as required. Provides monthly reports, workload data, and other reports related to the HAZMINCEN In addition to the above, performs any other tasks as directed by the supervisor and Department manager. WORKING ENVIRNOMENT/ PHYSICAL ACTIVITES: Must be able to work in inclement weather, including daily exposure to heat and sun glare. General office, outdoor and warehouse environment. PMRF Off-site travel to additional warehouse locations. Lifting: 25 - 50 lbs Positions: Walking/Standing; Repeated Stooping Pushing/ Pulling: 25 - 50 lbs Environmental: Customer Contact; Confined Work Area; Field Assignment; Inclement Weather

Requirements

  • Experience: Three years of Supply & Logistics background with two years’ experience in HAZMAT is desired.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Inventory management and accountability
  • Knowledge of basic hazardous materials and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
  • Must work well with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be capable of operating material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Security Clearance Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
