About The Position

Reporting to our Branch Manager, the Hazmat Driver will support the local branch. The Hazmat Driver is responsible for the transportation of non-hazardous and hazardous waste materials via multiple vehicle types including but not limited to Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans, Air Movers, etc. The Driver also performs tasks under the direct guidance of a supervisor including non-emergency and emergency response activities involving confined space entry such as manholes, tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping and shoveling, high pressure washing and various other remedial activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Waste experience required.
  • At least two years of CDL driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Class B license required.
  • Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements
  • No Manual or Airbrake Restrictions
  • Requires manual labor. Moving heavy drums, pallets, totes etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Operation of multiple vehicle types such as Roll-Offs, Tankers, Box Vans and Air Movers, Preferred
  • Guzzler, Vactor Operator, Vacuum Truck, Box Truck Operators.
  • Safety oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe transport of equipment to job sites and perform a variety task associated with industrial and environmental cleaning, hazardous waste pick-up.
  • Safely operate a tanker truck and obey all traffic control devices.
  • Perform a Pre-trip and post-trip inspection on the truck you drive.
  • Manage a schedule and work independently.
  • Properly clean up product spills when necessary.
  • Cleaning and decontamination of regulated materials from spills, trenches, drains, oil/water separators, boilers, tanks, and other industrial cleaning applications.
  • Will run, maintain, and troubleshoot motors, pumps, chainsaws, generators, outboard motors, air compressors, asphalt cutters, and other small power tools.
  • Prompt attendance on job assignments which may encompass early and after hours start times.
  • Maintain up to date training and education for licenses, permits and regulatory information specific to job responsibilities.
  • This is a physical job that requires getting in and out of the truck several times a shift.
  • Performs non-emergency and emergency response.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
