Industries for the Blind and Visually Impaired (IBVI) is a mission-driven not for profit organization seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Hazmat Associate to support inventory control, safety compliance, and operational readiness at our base Supply Center located on Joint Base Charleston. This role plays a critical part in managing hazardous materials in accordance with Air Force, Naval Weapons Station, and government contract requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently in an environment where accuracy and accountability are essential. In this role, a typical day includes monitoring and managing hazardous material inventory, reviewing shelf-life and expiration dates, maintaining accurate records in required systems, and ensuring all materials are safely stored, handled, and documented. The Hazmat Associate regularly updates safety documentation, coordinates receiving and delivery activities, attends scheduled hazmat meetings or training, and works closely with store leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. The position involves a balance of administrative work, inventory oversight, and hands-on handling of materials within the warehouse and store environment.
