As a Hazardous Waste Manager, you will oversee the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous, chemical, and pharmaceutical waste across customer facilities and internal operations. You will ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting operational efficiency and team performance. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent regulatory knowledge, and the ability to build effective partnerships with customers, internal teams, and regulatory agencies. Requirements

  • 3+ years of hazardous waste, chemical waste, or environmental compliance experience
  • Supervisory or management experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of RCRA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed
  • Must pass background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Safety Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and solve operational challenges
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily hazardous waste operations including collection, segregation, packaging, and disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA, RCRA, and state environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and safety evaluations.
  • Oversee waste profiling, sampling, manifests, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate shipments with transportation and disposal partners to maintain cradle-to-grave compliance.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor team members on HAZWOPER and safety protocols.
  • Serve as primary compliance contact for customers and internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, and safety performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
