About The Position

The Specialized Assignment Recruitment for Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Technician - Firefighters is an ongoing recruitment process that allows employees to apply for specialized assignments throughout the year. These assignments will be posted on January 1st and will remain open until December 31st. Interviews for these specialized assignments will only be conducted if a vacancy occurs. When a vacancy arises, an email will be sent out at least one week prior to the interview date(s) to announce the vacancy, application deadline, and interview dates. Eligible applicants will be invited to participate in the interview process, and selections will be made from the candidates who interviewed for the current vacancy. If another vacancy occurs before December 31st, a similar notification process will be followed.

Requirements

• Must complete a Nevada State Fire Marshal Hazmat Technician certification within one year of assignment.
• Must become truck certified within one year of assignment.
• Fulfill all responsibilities of a Station 98 Team Member.
