Hazardous Material Coordinator
About The Position
HAZ MAT COORDINATOR Position Responsibilities Waste Management services to our customers which includes: Determining waste characterization and arranging disposal/recycling of various waste streams Recordkeeping of hazardous and other regulated waster Preparing shipping documents per DOT and EPA requirements Tracking weights of recyclable materials Participating with site field operations as needed for obsolete chemicals or abandoned chemicals Completing spill reports and other technical writings regarding regulatory requirements Interaction with other departments and vendors for the documentation of customers’ waste management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in natural science, environmental science or engineering
- 1+ years’ experience in environmental science
- Good driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written/oral) skills
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Positive and professional at all times
- Must demonstrate a proactive approach to all tasks
- Work primarily in an office.
- Must be physically and mentally able to maintain work in an office setting.
- May also be required to work around chemicals and other toxic substances.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
