Responsibilities
- Operate a haul truck to transport raw and processed aggregate from the pit to the plant and to stockpiles in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform a pre-trip inspection of the truck at the beginning of the shift.
- Report any defects to the supervisor.
- Drive truck to pit/stockpile and position truck for loading by loader operator/storage bin.
- Dump material into the primary crusher/on the stockpile.
- Lower bed of truck and drive to be loaded again.
- Perform repetitive work according to set procedures, sequence, or pace.
- Work in conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases.
- Climb on and off of the truck, requiring balance and equilibrium.
- Use feet for repetitive movements such as foot controls while driving truck.
- Work in low light conditions.
- Multitask as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Pass a pre-employment 'Fit for Work' physical.
- Provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
- Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
