About The Position

Schmidt Construction Company, part of the Levy Group of Companies, is seeking a Haul Truck Driver to work at their Menzer location in Colorado Springs, CO. The Haul Truck Driver operates off-road haul trucks to transport raw materials such as aggregate, rock, and other materials within the quarry. The role ensures safe, efficient movement of materials while maintaining equipment and following all site safety procedures. The Levy Group of Companies is a 100-year-old family-owned company that transforms recycled products into construction materials, lightweight aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, agricultural products, and more. They also provide steel mill services, flame cutting and treatment, road building, logistics, laboratory testing, and a variety of other solutions for their customers.

Requirements

• Knowledge of quarry operations and material handling
• Strong understanding of safety practices in a heavy industrial environment
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to communicate effectively

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating off-road haul trucks or similar heavy equipment preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Operates haul truck to transport materials within the quarry site
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment
• Loads, hauls, and dumps materials in designated areas
• Maintains proper communication with loader operators, supervisors, and other crew members
• Monitors equipment for mechanical issues and reports defects promptly
• Follows designated haul routes and traffic patterns
• Maintains safe speeds and proper load distribution
• Assists with general site cleanup and housekeeping
• Performs minor maintenance such as fueling, greasing, and checking fluid levels
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures at all times
• Assists other crew members as needed
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
