About The Position

The Hatchery Worker (Pull Crew) at Cobb Vantress Inc. is responsible for the processing of chicks in a biosecure environment. This role involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting, stacking, and moving boxes of chicks, as well as maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the hatchery. The position requires adherence to strict biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines, ensuring the health and safety of both the workers and the animals.

Requirements

• Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.
• Previous agricultural or production experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Pull chicks and place them for processing.
• Properly dispose of substandard chicks.
• Operate high pressure washer to clean trays, dollies, hatchery, and equipment.
• Lift and stack boxes of chicks weighing approximately 15 pounds.
• Push and pull hatcher baskets full of chicks weighing approximately 500 - 1000 pounds.
• Place up to 150,000 chicks onto a belt, requiring overhead lifting.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly euthanize weak/ill birds.
