Hatchery Supervisor- Temperanceville Hatchery, VA- 1st shift
About The Position
This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth day-to-day activities and driving future improvements. Key Responsibilities Monitor Daily Operations: Supervise and manage the daily activities within the hatchery. Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Documentation: Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts. Maintain logs for each truck, including miles and hours worked by each driver. Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely movement of chicks to farms according to the shipment schedule. Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the incubation, hatchery, and environmental control equipment. Personnel Supervision: Lead and supervise hatchery personnel on a daily basis. Egg Grading: Grade fleets of eggs from hen farms. Vaccine Preparation: Prepare vaccines for the chickens. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed and as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Basic computer skills are required.
