About The Position

The position involves processing product using tools, manual labor, and equipment in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim's Company product standards and procedures. The employee will process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations, observe equipment operation, and notify appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, as is assisting others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position. The employee must observe all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies, maintaining a positive work atmosphere by effectively communicating with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams. Recognizing and acting on incidents and safety risks is crucial, as is consistently practicing and enforcing safe work habits throughout the organization. Participation in process improvement and problem-solving utilizing continuous improvement methodologies is expected, along with following all company animal welfare guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in hot/warm temperatures.
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly.
  • Must be a team player and work closely with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good hand and eye coordination required.
  • Food or production experience preferred.
