About The Position

Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations. Hiring one seasonal position at the Cole M. Rivers Fish Hatchery in Trail, Oregon. The anticipated duration of this position is from April 1, 2026 – October 31, 2026 (These are estimated dates. Length of season(s) may be shortened or extended depending on project needs, funding, or factors beyond the project’s control). As a seasonal Laborer/Student Worker, you will assist in performing fish culture duties to meet production goals, maintain equipment, grounds, buildings. Duties include: Power wash, paint, repair and maintain buildings, fishponds and fish culture structures Service gas powered vehicles and equipment Maintain equipment, grounds (lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees) Operate facility equipment Answer questions from the public Set up ponds to receive fry or fish The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
