About The Position

The Harvest Truck & Trailer Driver is responsible for safely transporting harvested product from field locations to the Distribution Center (Cooler) while maintaining full compliance with company, safety, and DOT regulations. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily harvest operations and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast ‑ paced, time ‑ sensitive environment. Drivers must be adaptable to changing field conditions, shifting schedules, and seasonal travel. The role may require long or irregular hours based on harvest demands.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Doubles and Triples endorsement.
  • Drivers' motor vehicle records, safety records, and drug and alcohol violations history checks required.
  • Self ‑ motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible to work in any assigned area.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Availability to work at least six days per week.
  • Ability to travel between Salinas, Huron, Imperial Valley, Oxnard, and Yuma.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Transport harvested product from field locations to the Distribution Center (Cooler) in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Operate trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Perform required pre ‑ trip, en ‑ route, and post ‑ trip vehicle inspections; report any mechanical or safety issues immediately.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork related to product transport, equipment use, and daily logs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Commodity Managers, Supervisors, Forepersons, and Transportation Logistics Coordinators to ensure smooth harvest flow.
  • Complete required documentation at the Carton Yard, including load verification and equipment tracking.
  • Maintain certification to move harvest equipment during the day as needed to support production continuity.
  • Assist with equipment positioning, trailer staging, and other operational needs to support harvest efficiency.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, including PPE requirements, safe driving practices, and field ‑ specific procedures.
