About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Harvest Healthcare Services is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to residents under the direction of the Occupational Therapist. This role involves adhering to established standards of practice, company procedures, and productivity standards. The COTA will conduct screenings, assist in evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor residents' responses to interventions. The position also includes educating residents, families, and staff about occupational therapy procedures and participating in discharge planning.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant in practicing state(s).
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to residents in accordance with established standards of practice.
• Adhere to company procedures regarding documentation and billing of occupational therapy services.
• Conduct screenings of residents to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in the evaluation of residents.
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Conduct treatment according to the established treatment plan.
• Monitor resident’s response to intervention and discuss adaptations with the Occupational Therapist.
• Participate in resident, family, and staff education regarding occupational therapy.
• Confer with team members to coordinate the total rehabilitation program.
• Supervise Rehabilitation Aides, Occupational Therapy Aides, students, and volunteers.
• Participate in Quality Assurance Program as required.
• Attend scheduled training and educational classes.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, including HIPAA and resident rights.
• Report hazardous conditions and respond appropriately in emergencies.
