The Harvest Production Supervisor oversees the efficiency of monitoring production, scanning make sheets, and discussing daily goals with employees. This role involves reporting to the Slaughter Office for order sheets, attending supervisor meetings, and communicating work schedules to line workers daily. The supervisor evaluates the production of the previous day to make necessary adjustments and handles any employee grievances, disputes, or problems in the most efficient manner possible, escalating unsolved matters to the General Foreman. Active participation in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings is expected. The supervisor checks packaging to ensure it is labeled properly and may provide guidance or perform production procedures. They perform pre-operational procedures to ensure equipment is properly sanitized and in working order, and ensure employees have the proper safety equipment. The supervisor also ensures that hourly employees are trimming products correctly to minimize product loss and works with the Quality Control department to ensure product quality and food safety. Daily work tasks are structured, and job performance is measured by the General Foreman based on criteria such as overall production of the line, quality of paperwork, attendance, attitude, and supervision of employees. The supervisor evaluates all newly hired employees during their first month of employment and performs follow-up training on hourly employees. They are directly involved in disciplinary procedures with hourly employees, which may range from verbal warnings to terminations, and maintain contact with line personnel in addition to plant management.
