About the position

The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate highly reliability aerospace harnesses for Flight and non-Flight applications.
  • Execute standards, practices, and procedures to meet product / program requirements.
  • Perform wire routing, soldering, crimping, shield terminations, encapsulation, wrapping and complex harness repair operations as needed.
  • Provide additional support to PWB assembly, including hand soldering of electronic components and assistance with automated assembly equipment.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.
  • Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and complex assembly instructions.
  • Competencies in harness routing, harness wrapping, soldering, crimping, shield termination, and complex cable rework/repair operations.
  • Ability to perform operations on very small wire gauges under a microscope.
  • Ability to use handheld testing equipment (ex. DMM) to verify harness construction.
  • Knowledge of connector care, mating, de-mating, cleaning, identification, and inspection.
  • Ability to obtain or be currently certified to IPC J-STD-001, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, and ANSI S20.20.
  • Ability to work complex processes efficiently with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of program personnel and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (including Excel, Outlook, and Word).

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with aerospace, clean room, and flow bench environments.
  • Experience working with critical Flight hardware.
