About The Position

Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope. MANUFACTURING Rocket Lab’s Manufacturing team are the builders and the doers who work with our advanced machinery across our global manufacturing sites to get our satellites, satellite components, and rockets out the door. They bring the designs of our engineers to life by using advanced manufacturing techniques like 3D printing to create our hardware and are responsible for delivering our projects and missions on time and on budget to our customers. HARNESS MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN II/III Based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, California, the Harness Manufacturing Technician II/III is responsible for building and testing harnesses for Space Systems satellites and launch systems. Harness Manufacturing Technicians are responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including soldering, wire harnessing, PCB assembly, functional testing, operating thermal chambers, creative ideas, and offer continuous improvement recommendations. (This position can be hired as a Harness Manufacturing Technician II or Harness Manufacturing Technician III Level)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with electrical harness assembly and testing to an Aerospace standard or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • High School diploma, GED, or 5+ years of applicable electrical and/or testing experience in lieu of diploma
  • Experience assembling per manufacturing instructions and drawings.
  • 5+ years of experience with electrical harness assembly and testing to an Aerospace standard or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • High School diploma, GED or 8+ years of applicable electrical and/or testing experience in lieu of diploma

Nice To Haves

  • Inspect PCB and wiring assemblies meet customer workmanship standards.
  • Use of specialist tools and equipment; wire strippers, HiPot Testers, DMC Hand Crimpers, Banding Tools, Automatic Wire-Stripping Machine, DMC Pneumatic Crimpers, Back shell Torqueing Tools, Pin Retention Testers, Multimeters.
  • IPC-WHMA-A-620 certified.
