About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Harness Manufacturing Engineer to help build the first space-based cellular broadband network directly accessible by everyday mobile phones. You would join our hands-on production team in Midland, TX, designing and fabricating the electrical harnesses that power our next-generation satellites. This is a dynamic, high-impact role for engineers who thrive in fast-paced, startup-energy environments and want their work to literally reach orbit. This role is onsite in Midland, TX, and provides a generous relocation package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-7 years of hands-on experience in harness manufacturing, wiring assembly, or electrical integration.
  • Proficiency in Capital HarnessXC, SEE Electrical, or similar CAD tools.
  • Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards; experience in cleanroom environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with crimping, routing, soldering, and pull-testing (100 lb tensile).
  • Strong troubleshooting and process-improvement mindset with RCA familiarity.
  • U.S. citizenship required. Willingness to relocate to Midland, TX.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document wire harness layouts and schematics using Capital HarnessXC or SEE Electrical.
  • Fabricate and assemble harnesses in cleanroom conditions-perform crimping, soldering, lacing, and pull-testing to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) of defects such as vibration-induced shorts, implementing corrective actions to achieve 97%+ yield.
  • Support AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) through EMI, thermal, and vibration testing of harnesses and subsystems.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, power, and antenna teams to optimize harness routing for weight, thermal efficiency, and scalability.
  • Contribute to process improvements enabling production of up to six satellites per month.
