What Makes This Role Great In this pivotal QA Test Engineer role, you won't just be testing—you will be the final gatekeeper for industry-leading civil construction solutions. You will be hands-on with heavy machinery, directly applying your mechanical and technical expertise to validate complex, integrated systems like grading/paving control and SPS positioning. This position offers the unique opportunity to direct and implement comprehensive end-to-end Use Case Testing practices that validate entire user workflows across the Civil Construction Field Systems, making a tangible difference in how the world's infrastructure is built.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of field experience in software/hardware system testing or higher education in a relevant field of study.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, analytical skills, and identifying complex workflow defects.
  • Prior heavy equipment operation experience (Excavator, bulldozer, Motor Grader, Paving Machines)
  • Strong working knowledge of the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of heavy civil machinery equipment.
  • Familiarity with grade control systems (2D and 3D configurations) and the Civil Construction Field Systems solutions.
  • Must be able to perform the physical work required on Heavy Equipment including bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting or moving weights in excess of 50 pounds safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and competency with GNSS receivers.
  • Knowledge of Software Automated Testing Processes (e.g., Python) or basic scripting skills.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework and Embedded Software.
  • Earthworks, Roadworks, GCS 900, PCS 900

Responsibilities

  • Pioneer System Validation: Direct and implement comprehensive end-to-end Use Case Testing practices to validate entire user workflows across complex Civil Construction Field Systems solutions.
  • Architect Test Strategy: Create and implement structured testing strategies, test plans, and robust test cases based on determined project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Spearhead Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software, hardware, and system-level defects, collaborating with Product Teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
  • Ensure Quality Documentation: Maintain the integrity of all quality assurance documentation (test plans, test cases, and scripts) as the reliable technical and historical record for all testing cycles.
  • Validate Field Technology: Get hands-on with cutting-edge products, supporting systems like Grading, Paving, Excavator control, Siteworks software, and SPS positioning hardware.
