About The Position

The Hardware Test Engineer will develop automated hardware tests using the python programming language and contribute to the development of an extensive hardware testing platform. The role involves analyzing product specifications, system requirements, and CONOPs to develop test evaluation plans and procedures. The engineer will support the development of Test & Evaluation Master Plans and Test Readiness Assessments, perform data collection and analysis, and report status and results. Additionally, the engineer will work alongside the operations team to manufacture custom radio products and contribute to process improvement by identifying and communicating problems to root cause.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Developer.
• Experience writing software applications using the Python programming language.
• Ability to read and understand software code (e.g., C++, MATLAB).
• Experience with black box and automation test methods.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and test procedures.
• Exposure to a wide variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, and I/O devices (i.e., pogo-pins, temperature controllers, current and power meters, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects have an appropriate test strategy which includes functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, load testing and stress testing.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to ensure manufacturing test equipment meet and exceed expectations.
• Conduct tests on custom designed RF and digital printed circuit boards.
• Conduct tests on product subassemblies, end products, and multi-product systems.
• Troubleshoot product, subassembly, and circuit board failures to component level.
• Automate the use of test equipment such as network analyzers, signal generators and GPS simulators.
