About The Position

The person in this position will perform numerous functions to include the handling, installation, and removal of desktop hardware, cabling, operational testing, and documentation. This position will require up to 90% travel, worldwide. The Hardware Technician is responsible for providing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. The role involves assessing user needs and solving a range of problems, providing installation of new equipment, performing equipment modifications or enhancements, and assisting with the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. The technician will provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, incident response, and customer support tasks. Responsibilities also include deploying new hardware, software, and upgrading existing installations, installing cabling, preparing and maintaining documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems installation and operations, and interacting with end users. The technician may supervise site activities and assigned staff, exercise sound judgment and decision-making, and participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Top Secret SCI + Polygraph clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle, install, and remove desktop hardware and cabling.
  • Perform operational testing and documentation.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
  • Assess user needs and solve a range of problems.
  • Deploy new hardware, software, and upgrade existing installations.
  • Install cabling at desks, below raised floors, and above ceilings.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Interact with and provide training to end users.
  • Maintain system documentation and current knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Supervise site activities and assigned staff as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
