About The Position

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electronics in a portable computer system. Responsible for system integration support from product feature concepts through prototype bring-up, manufacturing readiness, and customer launch phases. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate the latest computing technology into Apple's products. Perform schematic capture. Select appropriate components from the vendor library and datasheet analysis. Capture with CAD schematic tools, following documented design conventions. Simulate analog and digital circuits to ensure proper operation before committing to the design. Perform PCB layout by working with CAD designer to place and route electronic components. Implement complex, dense designs on high-technology PCBs with fine-pitch BGA devices. Work with cross-functional technology teams to incorporate their layout feedback and balance against competing goals. Bring up and debug prototype hardware. Work closely with firmware and software teams to prove functionality for a new system and debug features that are not working correctly. Test, characterize and validate new hardware designs. Using direct measurement, such as oscilloscopes or logic analyzers, and indirect methods, such as margin stress tools, to demonstrate high confidence that the design is robust. Support factory in preparation for high-volume manufacturing. Review designs of factory test fixtures and ensure manufacturing test plans provide adequate coverage to ensure the design is assembled correctly. Debug problems found in manufacturing, feedback root cause and corrective action into design or manufacturing process. Travel to manufacturing sites for hands-on support.
