The opportunity We’re looking for an engineer on the hardware engineering team to troubleshoot field units and support testing of prototypes. You’ll be part of a small, mission-driven team working on novel hardware products. We’re growing quickly so there are ample opportunities for challenge and growth. This is a contract role that requires being on-site in our San Francisco office. The contract will last 12 months (until the end of 2026).

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and software systems to understand possible causes of failures.
  • Familiarity with interpreting data and sensor readings.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, DOE, and quality measuring techniques.
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues seen in the field by customers by analyzing data from units, talk to customers as needed to understand failures, and work with the engineering team to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support product development teams with prototyping and testing.
  • Build software and AI tools to facilitate diagnosis of hardware failures.
