For more information, please visit www.wealthenhancement.com . Our Corporate Office is seeking a Hardware Support Intern to join our team . This internship offers hands‑on experience in IT operations, including building and deploying laptops, shipping hardware to employees, assisting with local site equipment installations, and supporting neighboring offices with basic technology needs. The intern will partner closely with the IT team to learn ticketing workflows, create user documentation, and troubleshoot technology issues in a fast‑paced support environment. Key takeaways from this role include strengthening technical and communication skills, gaining exposure to corporate hardware standards and Windows‑based tools, and building foundational experience in IT operations within a collaborative, mentorship‑focused team. We’re specifically seeking candidates who reside in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly rate for this position is $21 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college or university degree program to be eligible for an internship. Candidates who have already graduated or will graduate before the start of the summer intern program are not eligible.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and adaptable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably pursuing bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or has an interest in information technology
  • Preferably students between their junior and senior years.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Work with Technology Equipment Build laptops according to specifications for new employees Send shipments of equipment and technology packages to new or existing employees and offices Repair laptops, add memory, and troubleshoot issues Will gain an understanding of how computers and networks work in an organization
  • IT Ticketing System Use the ticketing system to resolve employee requests Handle tickets in the order they were received (first in, first out) Troubleshoot employee technology issues; research how to fix problems and work with team members to resolve Will gain an understanding of how an IT ticketing system works, including best practices and troubleshooting techniques
  • Teamwork, Mentorship, and Shadowing Attend and participate in team meetings; take notes and share with team as needed Receive hands-on training with engineers to learn more about information technology and the systems used Opportunity to shadow team members to learn more about particular areas of interest in IT Will gain a behind-the-scenes view of how an IT department operates across various functions
  • Special Projects as Assigned Complete independent projects as assigned by manager; complete assigned tasks, follow up with manager as questions arise, and provide regular status updates Support the IT team with ad hoc projects as requested Will learn how to effectively manage a project, gain time management skills, and learn how to prioritize tasks when there are competing deadlines
