Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced Hardware Manager to oversee the development and integration of advanced hardware systems for Department of Defense (DoD) applications. This position involves the day-to-day management of a small, multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for delivering high-performance, integrated hardware solutions. The role includes project tracking, personnel tasking, scheduling, and coordination across multiple ongoing efforts.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, including task or project management responsibility.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: Optical Systems Electronics Systems Computer Systems Mechanical Systems Hardware Systems Design and Assembly
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with DoD development environments and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers working across hardware, electronics, optical, computer, and mechanical systems.
  • Oversee project schedules, deliverables, and resource allocation across multiple programs.
  • Ensure all lab resources, equipment, and property are properly managed and compliant with company and DoD policies.
  • Coordinate and communicate project status, risks, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support engineering design reviews, integration efforts, and product testing activities.
  • Promote team development, technical excellence, and process improvement.
