About The Position

The Hardware Interface Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining hardware interface requirements between ECUs, sensors, and actuators, supporting technical reviews with hardware suppliers to ensure compatibility with the interfaces, and driving hardware interface consolidation and harmonization across the whole Stellantis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 2 years of experience in automotive electrical (architecture, systems, and/or hardware).
  • 1 year of experience in analog and digital electronic circuit hardware development experience
  • 1 year of experience in ECU hardware designs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain HWI (Hardware Interface) Documents for ECUs and its direct-wired sensors and actuators
  • The HWI documents define the electrical interface type (e.g. LSD, HSD, Half-Bridge, Analog Input, etc.), all the relevant electrical characteristics and requirements of the hardware interface, including reference circuitry to ensure compatibility between the devices
  • Collect existing interface requirements, analyze them, and propose harmonization and standardization of the hardware interfaces used by Stellantis.
  • Support Tech Review & Design Review with Suppliers and Component owners to ensure compliance with the hardware interface requirements
  • Work with component owners and suppliers for the successful implementation of the HWI
  • Work with the Electrical Architecture team to specify hardware interfaces for all architecture components
  • Analyze hardware interface issues observed during validation and proposed solutions
  • Stay abreast with hardware interface technologies advancements and drive updates/evolutions to HWI documents accordingly
  • Promote the sharing of knowledge and overall growth of the technical capability of the electrical architecture team through training and other technical material explanations and presentations.
