About The Position
Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio. . A Brief Overview The Hardware Install and Service I will install all types of hardware in various applications. This position will take direction from the field supervisor and will follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements on all installed products.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Read and use a measuring tape and other required tools for complete installation.
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills and the ability to provide and/or followdetailed instructions.
- Available for overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience installing hardware products preferred.
- Prior keying experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions from the field supervisor regarding installation of hardware materials.
- Work with other installers to install hardware products as assigned and trained.
- Follow manufacturer directions and warranty requirements when installing products.
- Track time and materials as required for each installation project.
- Maintain all equipment in good order and report any malfunctions to field supervisor.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Provide quality customer service.
- Cross-train in other areas to expand knowledge and expertise.
- Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce errorfree and damage free results.
- Perform lock rekeying services, including repinning cylinders and creating new key sets based on master key systems or customer needs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical locking systems and door hardware.
- Cut keys using manual or electronic key cutting machines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
