About The Position

As a Hardware Technical Leader, you will be designing the hardware for the Cisco 8000 series routers and next generation platforms to deliver the best quality and best power efficiency using groundbreaking SerDes technology at the highest bit rates possible. Your responsibilities will span from hardware definition to design, and from qualification to final product release to our customers. Use Cadence/Allegro to develop schematics and oversea layout and routing of complex PCB designs Perform design reviews of schematics, BOMs, layout and routing. Write hardware specs, develop test plans, bring up hardware with ASIC, Signal Integrity, and Software teams. Debug issues the lab using analyzers, scopes. Perform and review failure analysis (FA), root cause analysis (RCA), of issues that occur during the Hardware validation and sustaining phases of development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or similar engineering field with 8+ years of related experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience or PhD with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in Ethernet, high speed (>10G) interfaces, high speed design and/or signal integrity.
  • Experience with design tools such as Cadence Concept and/or Allegro
  • Experience with lab bring up, debug and design validation of complex electronic products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the server/computer/networking industry
  • Experience in X86 architecture.
  • Experience with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.
  • Experience collaborating with other subject matter technical leaders, including software, mechanical, thermal and signal integrity
