Lead and mentor a team of electrical hardware engineers, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and working effectively. Develop and implement hardware development strategies that align with business objectives. Lead all aspects of the design, development, and testing of hardware products. Ensure that all electrical designs meet industry standards, including safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver hardware products on time and within budget. Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Ensure that issues are identified and resolved in a timely and effective manner. Provide regular updates on project progress to senior management, highlighting any issues or risks that may impact the delivery of the project.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in device development
  • A strong technical background in hardware, with a proven track record in a management role at medium to large companies
  • Proven record of building and leading engaged engineering teams with a culture of feedback, open communication, and team orientation
  • Ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities
  • Social skills, to establish good rapport, generate enthusiasm & negotiate priorities
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations including experience with global compliance standards (CE, FCC, RoHS) and safety requirements such as IEC 61010 for electrical equipment in measurement and laboratory use
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in forming relationships, great teammate, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead the team through design and manufacturing obstacles
  • Demonstrates a sense of humor, tact, and flexibility in changing situations
