About The Position

Hardware Engineering Manager | E-7A Mission Computing Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) E-7A Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) Wedgetail Program is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and inclusive Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the E-7A Mission Computing engineering team based in Tukwila, WA. The Mission Computing Hardware Engineering Manager will oversee a team responsible for the development, analysis, integration, testing, certification, and production support of E-7A Mission Computing Hardware. This hardware serves as the central nervous system of the E-7A, providing the primary user interface for operators. This role reports to the E-7A Mission Systems Senior Manager and Chief Engineer and will closely coordinate with the E-7 Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) leader. Position Responsibilities: Manage Mission Systems employees performing engineering and technical activities in support of E-7A Mission Computing Hardware. Perform technical supplier management for the procurement of Mission Computing Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), including servers, routers, display processors, displays, cross-domain solutions, and time distribution units. Conduct Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management; develop and execute integrated plans, policies, processes, and procedures for Mission Computing. Collaborate with E-7A Mission Systems leadership to ensure effective project planning, implementation, and incorporation of lessons learned. Manage, motivate, and develop employees; acquire new resources for organizational activities. Support study contracts, IRAD, and new business proposal campaigns. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced team environment requiring strong communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience as a control account manager or equivalent Earned Value Management experience.
  • Experience in schedule and budget management, customer communication, and program planning and execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience and knowledge of Mission Systems.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of E-7.
  • Familiarity with airworthiness certification processes.
  • Experience with environmental, EME/EMI qualification per DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
