The Hardware Engineering Intern position at CommScope is designed for college students pursuing degrees in electronic design or computer programming. This 12-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in Passive Optical Network FPGA verification, allowing interns to collaborate with industry professionals and participate in professional development activities.

  • Understand the current designs.
  • Work with the existing verification team to devise new test cases.
  • Get up to speed with the latest verification software toolsets.
  • Produce self-checking test cases.
  • Collaborate with designers to identify and address issues.
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electronic design and/or computer programming from an accredited university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Perl, and BASH.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
  • Knowledge or experience verifying or writing code for FPGA design, Xilinx-AMD, Altera-Intel.
  • Experience using Xilinx Vivado or Altera Quartus tools.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Possess strategic and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong initiative and analytical skills with attention to detail.
