Opportunity Overview The Teradyne’s Integrated Systems Test (IST) Hardware Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, technically driven Hardware Engineering Intern to help develop our growing portfolio of hardware products and customers. This position is 40 hours per week onsite in North Reading, MA (June – August) The successful candidate for this position will work with an exceptionally experienced engineering team located around the world to support the sophisticated electronic hardware used by our customers to test integrated circuits and devices. While the position is principally expected to work on electronic hardware, the intern will gain experience with various aspects of modern complex systems in a collaborative environment. These aspects may include hardware, software, manufacturing, thermal management, mechanical engineering, manufacturing and repair, and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Current college student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Must have completed a minimum of 2 years coursework
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals
  • Ability to work with hardware tools such as oscilloscopes, voltage meters, power supplies, electronic loads
  • Basic software development and scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, C, C#, or C++) to support hardware design
  • Motivated to learn, eager to challenge yourself, and to deliver results
  • Strong in troubleshooting, multitasking, communication, teamwork, and organization
  • Commitment to learning, excellence, efficiency, and product quality
  • We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and PCIe and soldering experience are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Debug and characterize prototype hardware and circuits
  • Support test preparation and execution, troubleshooting, and software debug
  • Perform data analysis and statistical evaluation of products
  • Present data, findings, and conclusions to a broad audience
