The Hardware Engineering Intern position at CommScope is designed for college students to gain practical experience in the field of electrical engineering. This 12-week summer internship program offers hands-on training, collaboration with industry professionals, and opportunities for professional development through workshops and networking events. Interns will work on meaningful projects that contribute to the functionality and reliability of optical and RF communications products.

  • Execute test procedures and edit, if applicable, to guarantee the functionality and reliability of optical and RF communications products.
  • Provide detailed written test results.
  • Participate on cross-functional product design teams.
  • Design, document, and execute test cases and plans at the module, product, and/or system level.
  • Support resolution of factory and customer issues.
  • Interrogate and interpret engineering documentation including specifications, test documents, bill of materials, supplier identification, data sheet retrieval, and mechanical drawings.
  • Junior or Senior standing in a BS or Master's Degree program in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Demonstrate strong statistical/data analysis skills.
  • Have an instinctive problem-solving mentality.
  • Can communicate complex data and ideas in comprehensible ways.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team.
