About The Position

At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, we're on a mission to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of business ethics. We believe that by pushing the boundaries of visionary thinking, we can achieve exceptional results. As a Lockheed Martin employee, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in an environment that values integrity and excellence. Your role here enables the rapid fielding of mission‑critical hardware that safeguards national security and ensures our customers maintain operational superiority. By overseeing end‑to‑end integration, logistics, and test, you directly influence the success of high‑visibility defense programs. THE WORK The Lab & Hardware Engineer is a critical role responsible for the end‑to-end hardware integration of mission‑critical equipment. Here you will focus on rack and stack activities, logistics (pre‑ship inspections, pack‑out, and system deployments), cable design/fabrication/testing, and Integrated Test Facility (ITF) laboratory management. As the Hardware Engineer you will act as the focal point and primary point‑of‑contact (POC) for all ITF activities, build‑schedule coordination, and priority management in direct alignment with the customer's direction. In this role you will: Lead end‑to‑end hardware integration, installing and aligning rack‑mount equipment, verifying mechanical interfaces, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Develop detailed build‑schedule and priority‑management plans, monitoring milestones, risks, and communicating updates to stakeholders and customers. Manage logistics and pre‑ship processes, conducting thorough inspections, generating reports, creating packaging solutions, and coordinating transport vendors. Design, fabricate, and test power, data, fiber‑optic, and RF cables to specification, performing continuity, impedance, and signal‑integrity verification. Operate and sustain the Integrated Test Facility, calibrating test equipment, stocking consumables, and enforcing safety and security protocols. Coordinate with software and test engineers to configure systems for test campaigns and execute functional verification during on‑site deployments. Produce as‑built drawings, inspection logs, test reports, and configuration records, delivering regular status briefings to customers and internal leadership. Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks in racking, logistics, and testing and proposing efficiency enhancements. Mentor and lead inspection teams and logistics personnel, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Conduct troubleshooting of complex RF hardware issues, analyze data printouts, and apply corrective actions that improve performance and maintainability. WHO YOU ARE You are a proactive hardware engineer who excels at integrating complex RF and IT systems, leading cross‑functional teams, and driving continuous improvement through analytical problem‑solving. Your strong written and verbal communication enables you to produce clear technical reports and effectively train personnel. WHY JOIN US In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the delivery of mission‑critical hardware systems that support national security objectives. #RMSGG2026
