Prime Air Electric Propulsion team is seeking a highly motivated Hardware Development Engineer with strong background in hardware engineering, prototype testing, and electric powertrain systems. The engineer will lead mechanical design and development of drone hardware components and systems while designing and building test systems for validation. Responsibilities include creating mechanical designs for electric propulsion systems, building prototype hardware, leading test planning and execution, developing test strategies, and documenting procedures and results throughout the development process. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Requirements

  • 5+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in design and build of End-Of-Line test systems
  • Experience with CAD software for use in design, drafting, and product lifecycle management (CATIA / ENOVIA)
  • Experience in hardware reliability and qualification testing
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with requirements development and documentation
  • DO-160 qualification and aerospace formal verification experience
  • Experience in electronics and/or aerospace hardware
