MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Hardware Engineer Lead the work you will do at GDIT will be instrumental in supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). You will play a vital role in solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and delivering smarter solutions for the mission. Lead/Execute: Provide hardware engineering expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, lead deployments, and oversee the complete lifecycle of hardware equipment. Collaborate: Work with system engineers, test engineers, and project managers to ensure end-to-end success. Organize and direct hardware installations and configurations to satisfy user requirements. Innovate: Develop recommendations for existing and emerging hardware technologies to continuously improve system functionality and performance. Lead/Manage the asset management and hardware teams, ensuring all critical tasks and goals are achieved.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • +12 years of Experience
  • Technical skills: Strong expertise in various IT domains, such as cybersecurity, telecommunications, or information systems architecture.
  • Ability to perform and manage in high-paced, mission-critical environments with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Services (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI
  • US citizenship required
  • Required Certification(s): DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification: Sec+CE or equivalent
  • Role requirements: Daily support on-site at the customer location.
  • Willingness and ability to attain a CI Polygraph for specific positions as required.
  • Position may involve moderately strenuous activities such as lifting IT hardware, reaching, bending, or kneeling to plug in cables.
  • Travel as needed to support mission objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software and tools like AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware engineering expertise, including hardware design, architecture, network design, and other technical systems.
  • Plan all phases of hardware projects, including schedules, budgets, and the maturation of technical performance parameters.
  • Deploy, install, and implement IT hardware at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) sites.
  • Conduct site surveys, prepare engineering plans, and create technical design packages.
  • Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment.
  • Organize and direct hardware installations, configure and document configurations of computers, networking devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Oversee all projects by maintaining comprehensive oversight, clearly communicating expectations, timelines, and deliverables, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and meet established quality standards.
  • Conduct preventative and remedial hardware maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports, identifying and resolving issues to align with user requirements.
  • Direct and manage Capitol Equipment Replacement Program (CERP) processes for IT equipment lifecycle management.
  • Oversee and support asset management mission requirements to maintain optimal operational status.
  • Identify and resolve critical system failures resulting from hardware component issues or misconfigurations.
  • Develop solutions and proposals with the program manager to optimize hardware acquisition and operational costs.
