The Hardware Engineer I is responsible for providing electrical hardware input to new or existing product development projects. The engineer will be specifically involved in helping with the design, development, and troubleshooting of circuitry and PCBA, as well as system testing both in the lab and on real products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or directly related Engineering degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design

  • Experience in new product design and development

Responsibilities

  • Provide product development support, specific to controls in the Industrial, Commercial, Residential and/or Retail generator or Power Tool product area, supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)
  • Interfacing with internal company personnel, provide technical support for assigned projects
  • Specifies components and circuit designs, tests, and integrates individual circuits to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness in meeting requirements, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety
  • Assist in creating, designing and developing test specifications for new systems and system components
  • Conducts and evaluates test specification including testing hardware and interfacing firmware
  • Take part in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test Activities (DTA)
  • Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize basic designs for manufacturability
  • Utilizes simulation tools
  • Create PC based testing tools
  • Help troubleshoot design
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Other Duties as assigned
