About The Position

The role consists in modeling and simulation of piezoelectric resonators and filters, with an emphasis on the finite element method. Specifically, the employee will work within the R&D modeling team to help develop and run in-house FEM models. The job requires working closely with cross-functional teams to help characterize and optimize linear and non-linear device performance for the purpose of both product and technology development.

Requirements

  • Comsol and a general knowledge of multi-physics FEA methods
  • Matlab
  • Familiarity with basic acoustic resonator device physics
  • Candidate must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an emphasis on piezoelectric resonator device physics and computational methods and 3+ years of related experience.
  • The primary job duty will consist in using Comsol, interfaced with various scripting/programming tools, to help develop, automate, and run linear and high power models.
  • The scope includes resonator level modeling of FBAR as well as filter designs composed of FBAR and other RF components, and optimization of device performance.
  • A key part of the role will be interaction with measurement, characterization, and fabrication teams to provide simulation based guidance for current and future product and technology development.
