Product R&D has an immediate opening for a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer within our talented hardware design team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work throughout the product lifecycle to develop products and systems that expand the test and measurement industry's capabilities. Digital engineers at NI stand at the intersection of the many disciplines required to make new products come to life, making this role critical to the team's success. Through your work you will have opportunities to continue to expand your digital design skills by learning from experienced technical leaders and participating in initiatives to grow the craft of digital design. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams to develop test and measurement products. Develop register maps and generate documentation to ensure clear design intent to the broader project team. Own the full FPGA design, including logic implementation, data movement and analysis, testbenches, compilation, and timing analysis. Own all aspects of digital board level design, including schematic entry, layout guidelines, signal integrity simulations, and prototype validation. Develop and execute plans for prototype hardware bring-up and board level validation. Be the voice of digital design in project meetings by estimating level of effort for design tasks, providing input on status of work, and proactively raising technical concerns.
