Support project teams as the resident component expert. Suggest alternate components and resolve component related issues. Engage with suppliers on new component development, roadmaps and qualification. Review and evaluate component PCNs (Part Change Notifications). Coordinate and track all component root cause failure analyses and implement corrective actions. Manage component lifecycles. Review new programs BOM (Bill of Material) single source components data sheet details including electrical characteristics parameters and package dimensions diagram. Justify if a part is unique based on whether no other supplier can design and/or manufacture due to unique IP, or due to the unique nature of the corresponding application/circuit. Work with other suppliers to identify an existing pin-to-pin drop-in compatible alternate or provide guidance to other suppliers to develop an alternate source component to mitigate supply risk including future potential shortages or quality excursion. Review and discuss component level qualification test plan and proposals with suppliers on brand new electrical components. Consider each component commodity internal qualification specifications, including test conditions, number of wafer/assembly lot and sample size per lot, qualification by similarity justifications etc. Work with suppliers to closely monitor the execution of those tests start and completion dates, to ensure the tests completion date meets our programs ramping schedule. Domestic travel required 8%. 40 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 3 Years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Using Webex, Excel and Numbers to provide electrical and mechanical attributes comparison and documenting development schedule for product roadmap review and execution of components development plan.
  • Engaging with suppliers to search multiple sources from both electrical and mechanical perspective using Excel/Numbers and PowerPoint/Keynote
  • Leading collaboration with NPI teams to achieve commercial objectives and engineering design needs by reviewing project BOM (Bill of Material) cost analysis with engineering teams
  • Working with commercial/procurement teams and analyzing supply chain resiliency to form supply risk mitigation plan strategy.
  • Analyzing component level qualification results differences and utilizing GR&R methodology plus Bin Movement report to review PCN’s from suppliers and develop action plan prior to approval on changes to process or site location
  • Using Agile PLM software for monitoring and managing components lifecycle based on change in supply chain, analyzing suppliers datasheet EC table and POD updates, and creating ECO and MCO to control components lifecycle and documentation.
  • Conducting component level qualification by using reliability testing methodologies including HTOL, HTS, ELFR, TC, HAST, ESD and LU and analyzing test results at each critical read point.
  • Using RCA (Root Cause Analysis) systematic technique to lead design fix effort with component suppliers.
  • Collaborating with quality engineering to inspect suppliers 8D report (Eight Disciplines Methodology) before approving suppliers CA (Corrective Action).
