Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. The Hardware Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, build, commissioning, and support of payload processing technology used throughout the payload processing facility. Examples include cable harnessing, test/instrumentation racks, outdoor equipment enclosures, informational displays, and equipment monitoring systems. This individual will work closely with space/launch vehicle design teams, quality teams, vendors, and launch processing teams to ensure on-time delivery and successful operation of payload processing equipment. The Hardware Development Engineer will spend significant amounts of time collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams in support of satellite processing, test, and charging operations in the payload processing facility and at various launch sites. They will be responsible for test rack support equipment development, maintenance/upgrade of existing equipment, automation, and process monitoring. They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implementing efficiency improvements and reducing non-conformances.
