About The Position

The Hardware Design Engineer designs and tests new integrated circuits and hardware components for a wide variety of signal processing applications and research. Designs, documents, and develops code (to include firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices such as Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware. Analyzes the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components for the purpose of reverse engineering the hardware and firmware. Conducts the necessary hardware engineering and related functions to modify and adapt vendor-manufactured hardware to meet special Government needs and contingencies. Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing ASIC/FPGA/SoC microelectronics including simulation, verification, and debugging
  • Experience with HDL coding (Verilog/VHDL)
  • A deep understanding of digital logic and analog circuits
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer architecture and semiconductor physics
  • Knowledge of physical ASIC design and fabrication including place and route tools and semiconductor manufacturing
  • Familiar with commercial software tools to build circuit schematics and simulate or verify designs (Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys, etc..)
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or revered engineering of the same.
  • A bachelors degree in a technical discipline. In lieu of a degree, an additional five (5) years of experience, for a total of seventeen (17) years, may be substituted
  • Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
